PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Save the Bay is still looking for volunteers to help clean up some Rhode Island beaches on the upcoming International Coastal Cleanup.

About 2,000 volunteers are expected to fan out across about 80 Rhode Island beaches on Sept. 20 to pick up trash. kc up

Volunteers typically remove about 20,000 pounds of trash and debris in Rhode Island alone.



July Lewis, the coordinator of the effort, says volunteers are still needed to help clean up Charlestown Town Beach; Point Judith Breakwater and Scarborough Beaches in Narragansett; Field’s Point Beach in Providence; Conimicut Point, Longmeadow Fishing Area, and Oakland beaches in Warwick.
