WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A state appeals court has rejected a northeastern Pennsylvania man’s bid to withdraw his guilty plea in the stabbing death of his girlfriend almost seven years ago.
Fifty-five-year-old Bobby Lee Komrowski of White Haven pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in Luzerne County in the October 2007 death of 31-year-old Amy Comly. Prosecutors said he killed her hours after he was served with a protection-from-abuse order.
Komrowski was sentenced to 20 to 40 years in state prison but later tried unsuccessfully to withdraw the plea and go to trial.
The (Wilkes-Barre) Times Leader (https://bit.ly/1BuysV6 ) reports that the state Superior Court this week denied Komrowski’s request to withdraw the plea, noting that he had testified that his plea was voluntary and he was satisfied with his legal representation.
