GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 30-year-old Moss Point man has pleaded guilty to felony child abuse in Gulfport and sentenced to 17 years in prison.
District Attorney Joel Smith tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/WYT7S3 ) Terry Lee Seaman fractured a five-month-old Long Beach infant’s arms and leg while babysitting on July 24, 2012, while the mother was working.
Smith said the case was set for a jury trial, but the defendant changed his mind and decided to enter a guilty plea on Monday.
Circuit Court Judge Roger T. Clark sentenced Seaman to 30 years in prison, suspending 13 years. Seaman was also placed on post-release supervision for five years.
