ALBION, Iowa (AP) - Authorities believe the body found in the Iowa River Saturday belongs to a man who had been missing for a week.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1q3Uo11 ) that volunteers discovered the body in the river north of Marshalltown Saturday night.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s office says the body is believed to be 52-year-old Kevin Kroener of Marshalltown who disappeared Sept. 6, but the body hasn’t been positively identified yet.

Kroener was reported missing after he didn’t return from a swim in the river. His vehicle was found in a remote area by the river near Albion.
