CARRIZOZO, N.M. (AP) - A man accused of sexually assaulting and stabbing a Ruidoso McDonald’s worker in the head two years ago has pleaded guilty to several charges related to the attack.

The Alamogordo Daily News reported (https://bit.ly/1y2zucH) Saturday that 42-year-old Kenneth Kaulay entered his plea in Carrizozo earlier this week.

Kaulay, of Mescalero, is pleading guilty to felony charges of kidnapping, attempting to commit first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated stalking.

Prosecutors say the female victim was leaving McDonald’s in 2012 when she was attacked in a nearby wooded area.

They say Kaulay also fractured her skull, leaving some permanent paralysis.

The plea agreement also calls for Kaulay to admit to being a convicted felon at the time.

He could face more than 41 years in prison.
