MONUMENT, Colo. (AP) - Online fundraisers have raised about $21,000 for the families of two teens killed in a Labor Day car crash in Black Forest.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (https://tinyurl.com/ks3rufv ) the campaigns benefit the families of 17-year-old Beau Begier (BEZH’-ee-ur) and 18-year-old Ryan Pappas (PAH’-pus), both from Monument.
The Colorado State Patrol says they were passengers in a car that crashed into a grove of trees. A third teenage passenger suffered serious injuries, and the 17-year-old driver had minor injuries.
Kim McClelland, a friend of the Begiers, and Kristina Kazlausky, a friend of the Pappas family, set up the online fundraisers.
Begier and Pappas attended Palmer Ridge High School. Palmer Ridge graduate Connor Sperry ordered 250 bumper stickers saying “Monument Strong” to commemorate the teens and says he’s nearly run out.
