LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) - A landmark amusement park near Albany has shut down after 62 years.
Hoffman’s Playland in suburban Latham opened its gates for the last time Sunday. The couple that owns Hoffman’s is retiring and plans a mix of retail and residential development on the 8-acre plot.
Crowds of children and parents showed up Sunday for a last chance to line up for the 19 rides and to play arcade games.
The miniature train and other rides were expected to be sold.
