HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - A trial is set to begin for one of three men charged in the killing of an 8-year-old Hilton Head Island boy who was hit by stray gunfire.
Tyrone Robinson, 38, will stand trial starting Monday on a murder charge in the 2012 killing of Khalil Singleton.
The boy was playing in his grandmother’s yard when he died in the crossfire from a gunfight in September of 2012.
Authorities say that the shootout began when Robinson and the two other men got into a drug-related fight.
The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports (https://bit.ly/1s2ruFV ) that trial dates aren’t set for the two other men charged with the killing.
A message left Sunday seeking comment from an attorney representing Robinson wasn’t immediately returned.
