FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) - Prosecutors have dismissed murder and other charges against a 17-year-old Farmington youth who was arrested in a fatal shooting.

The Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1uHUSzm ) reports that the charges were dismissed without prejudice, meaning that they could be refiled.

The youth was released from custody after prosecutors said there is insufficient evidence to prosecute him.

Police have said they were pursuing new leads in the Sept. 3 killing of 22-year-old Seth Stallings of Farmington.

The Associated Press is not identifying the youth because of his age.
