ATLANTA (AP) - Officials from the Atlanta Medical Center say they’re giving parents take-home drug tests as part of a back-to-school substance abuse prevention program.

Officials say the medical system is distributing free drug tests at its Atlanta campus Wednesday and at its facility in East Point on Thursday. Organizers say both giveaways are scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Officials say the drug tests are being distributed as part of a partnership with notMYKid, a national nonprofit looking to encourage parents teach children the dangers of illegal drugs, among other issues.

The organization is planning to give out more than 4,000 free home drug tests in more than a dozen U.S. cities.
