Ukrainian MP Vitaly Zhuravsky was hurled into a dumpster and pelted with garbage when he was targeted by an angry mob in Kiev Tuesday morning.

Video showed Mr. Zhuravsky, once a member of former President Viktor Yanukovich’s ruling party, outside of the parliament building being yelled at by a large group, The Daily Mail reported. Men then grab Mr. Zhuravsky and chuck him head first into a garbage dumpster.

As the neatly dressed politician struggles to escape, one of the men holds him down by the head while others throw water and garbage at him, including a car tire.

The attack came after Ukrainian MPs pledged to ratify a key pact with the EU and voted in favor of a plan to offer pro-Russia rebels in the country’s east limited self rule, The Daily Mail said.
