DETROIT (AP) - A fire has gutted a house on the same street as Detroit’s Heidelberg Project outdoor art installation.

No injuries are reported following the fire before dawn Thursday on the city’s near east side. The house’s frame remained standing.

WWJ-AM and WXYZ-TV report the house on Heidelberg Street is used an artist’s studio and gallery. The Detroit News reports it’s known as the Detroit Industrial Gallery.

It had figurines, placards and Tim Burke’s paintings.

Fire Lt. Teresa Halsell tells MLive.com the fire was reported about 4 a.m. and controlled after two hours. She says it briefly rekindled about 8 a.m.

The cause remains undetermined.

Tyree Guyton founded the Heidelberg Project in 1986 in response to urban decay. It boosted security following several fires that started last year.
