FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Authorities are accusing a North Dakota man stalking a female employee of the Fargo Police Department.
WDAY-TV (https://bit.ly/1ufFNDH ) reports the 62-year-old Alan Retzlaff has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of stalking.
Authorities say Retzlaff gave the woman chocolates, waited for her in a parking lot, bought a diamond with the intention of giving to her and visited her home with the purpose of asking her to marry him.
The station reports the woman went to a neighbor’s house and called police while the man was in her driveway. Court records the woman told the officers responding to the scene that the man had stalked her for two weeks.
The woman isn’t a police officer.
Retzlaff posted a $2,000 bond to be released from the Cass County Jail.
