VALLEY CITY, N.D. (AP) - No charges will be filed against a Valley City driver who struck and killed a 92-year-old woman in a crosswalk.

Authorities say 32-year-old Robert Mittleider (MIHT’-ly’-dur) was driving a pickup truck that hit Rita Weber on June 22 while she was crossing a street. Weber died of her injuries eight days later in a Fargo hospital.

Barnes County State’s Attorney Carl Martineck tells KOVC radio that investigators ruled out alcohol, drugs, speed and cellphone use as possible factors in the incident, and it has been ruled accidental.
