HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Montana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment right rose slightly to 4.7 percent in August.
The Department of Labor and Industry says the state’s unemployment rate has remained between 4.5 percent and 4.7 percent since May and is down 0.6 percentage points since January.
Montana’s economy has added 12,000 jobs this year, but recent information indicates the state’s job growth is slowing compared to the record-breaking pace of earlier this year.
The national unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage points to 6.1 percent in August.
