PONTOTOC, Miss. (AP) - Officials in Pontotoc say a vote to allow the sale of hard liquor is tied.

City Clerk Dexter Warren tells WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/1Dnkmac ) the vote count Friday stands at 829 for, 829 against.

He says the election commission is working to verify the remaining affidavit ballots.



Five people have until Tuesday at 5 p.m. to present a photo ID for their ballots to be counted.

In a separate referendum to allow the sale of beer and light wine in the city, Warren says the vote is currently 848 for, 795 against.

Warren says he expects results from both elections to be certified next week.
