Aberdeen residents report rare siting of moose

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - Aberdeen residents are reporting a moose on the loose in the city.

The Aberdeen American News reports (https://bit.ly/1wRY6U7 ) that the wandering moose prompted a search on Friday by police and animal control officers.

Authorities were unable to find the moose but at least one resident took a picture of the animal traveling through a residential area.

Animal control officer John Weaver says it’s the first time in his 13 years that there was a report of a moose in the city.
