MONROE, Mich. (AP) - A woman and her teenage daughter have been charged with vandalism at a Michigan high school football field that included a depiction of male genitalia.

Grass killer was used to leave the shape of a penis spanning the length of the Bedford Community Stadium field in Monroe County’s Bedford Township on Aug. 30.

The 50-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter as well as a 17-year-old are facing a felony charge of malicious destruction of turf or soil.



The woman also faces a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of children. She was arraigned Friday and released on bond. Her daughter is being charged as a juvenile.

Lawyer Tim Churchill represents the mother and daughter. He calls it “an unfortunate incident with unintended consequences.”

The 17-year-old hasn’t been arraigned yet.
