CAMAS, Wash. (AP) - A southwest Washington fire chief says a woman in an electric wheelchair fell off a trail and 15 feet down an embankment to a Camas lake bed but escaped with only minor injuries.

The Columbian reports (https://is.gd/pz44hq ) that Camas-Washougal Fire Chief Nick Swinhart says the water level in Lacamas Lake is currently very low to help with annual lake cleanup. At another time of year, the area where the woman fell would normally be underwater.

Swinhart said the woman appeared to have only minor injuries after her tumble Friday. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation. She was not identified.

Firefighters later hauled the 350-pound wheelchair back up from the lake bed and returned it to family members.
