NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - A Columbia Pipeline Group spokesman says a natural gas leak into a Wetzel County creek doesn’t pose a threat to the environment.
Spokesman Scott Castleman tells The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register (https://bit.ly/1ylRgaY ) that a motorist saw bubbles in Fishing Creek on Sept. 11 and contacted the company’s monitoring center.
The gas is leaking from a 6-inch pipeline.
Castleman says the company will begin repairs after it receives all permits and clearances, which it hopes to have by Friday.
