KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into an inmate death at an East Tennessee jail.
The Kingsport Times-News (bit.ly/1mp7Kd9) reports the man was found dead in his cell Saturday at the Kingsport city jail. Officials notified the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office and asked the TBI to investigate. The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
District Attorney Gen. Barry Staubus told the newspaper he could comment on any specifics of the case, including how long the man had been in jail or what charges he faced.
