LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say two officers responding to a robbery call were injured when their patrol car collided with a pickup truck at an intersection.

City News Service reports the cruiser’s red light and siren were on when the crash happened late Sunday in the West Adams area.

Sgt. Hendley Hawkins says both officers and the driver of the pickup complained of pain and were taken to a hospital to be treated. He did not know the extent of the injuries.

Hawkins says the officers were driving eastbound on Jefferson and the Nissan Frontier truck was heading northbound on Western.

The intersection remained closed early Monday as the investigation continued.
