ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) - Ontario is seeking to regain control of the city’s airport from Los Angeles - the latest round in a long-running lawsuit and political fight.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1mGTUTx ) Ontario’s attorneys filed a motion Friday asking a Riverside County Superior Court judge to order Los Angeles to relinquish the struggling airport.

In court papers Ontario accuses Los Angeles World Airports of failing to comply with a 1967 agreement to both operate Ontario International and do its best to attract service to the airport. Passenger volume at Ontario has plunged from 7.2 million in 2007 to about 4 million last year.

Airport officials declined to comment on the lawsuit, saying it was their policy not to discuss pending litigation.
