MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Better Business Bureau in Wisconsin is hosting “ShredFest” at three locations Saturday to help protect people from identity theft.

Many Better Business Bureau offices across the United States offer similar events where people can bring personal documents with sensitive information like account numbers to have them shredded for free.

Free document shredding will be offered Saturday in West Allis, Appleton and Madison. People are asked to bring no more than three boxes of documents to shred per vehicle.

A second “ShredFest is planned for Oct. 25 in Manitowoc.

The Better Business Bureau says more than 63,000 pounds of material was destroyed at Wisconsin shredding events in May.

More details about Saturday’s events can be found at www.bbb.org/wisconsin .
