COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - A Lowndes County man accused of shooting a man he found in bed with his wife has been sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter.

George Strickland was convicted Friday in circuit court in the 2011 death of 36-year-old Christopher George. Strickland was sentenced Wednesday.

Prosecutors say George was living with the Stricklands, and Strickland shot George after finding him in bed with his wife.

They say investigators learned that the men argued at the couple’s home and George was shot multiple times.

George was pronounced dead at the scene.

Strickland testified that he fired in self-defense after George pulled a knife on him.
