AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Austin police have arrested a man who they say broke into a home in a gated community and stole watermelons, ice cream and pancake mix.

Police charged 21-year-old Jake Ledbetter with burglary of a habitation on Wednesday. They say he used a stolen wake board to cross a lake adjoining the property and entered through an unlocked back door.

Police say they found the shirtless man walking back to the lake and the food containers in the back yard. They say Ledbetter told them the home was in his “path” and he was there to eat the food.

Ledbetter is being held on $15,000 bond at the Travis County jail. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
