OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma City Police says a police officer has fatally shot a woman who ran her car into the officer while trying to leave an alleged drug deal.
Capt. Dexter Nelson says three plain-clothes officers in unmarked police cars were investigating a possible drug deal Wednesday evening in Oklahoma City. He says the officers were wearing badges around their necks and police vests when they approached two male suspects.
Nelson says one of the men ran to a car that the woman was in. He says she stuck the officer when she tried to drive away. The officer shot her once.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died. The man was arrested.
The officer wasn’t injured.
Police haven’t released the names of anyone involved.
