WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Police say it appears a teenager ran a red light before triggering a crash that killed an 84-year-old man and also involved a public bus.
West Valley City police say an 18-year-old girl failed to stop at a signal at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities say her Geo Prism hit a Honda Civic before both vehicles careened into a Utah Transit Authority bus. Police say an 84-year-old man who was riding in the Civic died, while the 58-year-old driver was seriously injured.
Police say nobody in the Geo Prism or on the bus were seriously injured.
Officials are exploring whether to press charges against the 18-year-old girl.
