ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp is investigating allegations of voter fraud against a voter registration group.

WSB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/Yv01Qn ) a subpoena was sent to the New Georgia Project and its parent organization Third Sector Development on Tuesday. The organization is led by Democratic House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams.

The subpoena demands all of the group’s records be released to the State Elections Board by Sept. 16.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp says his office has gotten complaints about voter registration applications that have been submitted by the New Georgia Project. Kemp says a preliminary investigation shows some applications have been forged and include false or inaccurate information.

Abrams said in a statement that the organization is working with the Secretary of State’s office to be transparent and share information.
