GALLIANO, La. (AP) - State Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents say three Galliano men are accused of harvesting oysters from an unapproved polluted area and taking them from a private lease without written permission.

Agents cited John P. Bruce, Jace P. Griffin and Jarrod P. Bruce Monday after spotting them on a boat in Bayou Faleau. The Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1HiKkvJ ) the agent seized the dredges and vessel and returned 10 sacks of oysters to the water.

Each violation the men are accused of carries a sentence of up to 120 days in jail, a fine of $900 to $950 and 40 hours of community service.

The men could also have their oyster harvesting licenses revoked for up to a year or have to use a vessel monitoring device for up to a year.
