NEW YORK (AP) - Another senior member of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration is departing.

Rebecca Kirszner Katz has been an adviser to the mayor and his wife, Chirlane McCray.

She has been a friend of the mayor’s family for years. Her primary focus at City Hall was shaping the public image of McCray, who’s the most visible New York City first lady in decades.

Katz is returning to work at a political consulting firm.

She’s the latest in a series of departures in the mayor’s second year.

Peter Ragone, a senior adviser, left to return to California. Laura Santucci, the mayor’s chief of staff, took a job at a United Nations organization.

And Rachel Noerdlinger, McCray’s chief of staff, left late last year after a series of embarrassing personal revelations.
