ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Atlantic City’s fire chief has retired after the city released surveillance video that shows him dropping his pants at a security checkpoint in the Public Safety Building.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1CK7lba ) reports Dennis Brooks was put on administrative leave in early March as officials investigated the incident. A woman working the metal detector said the chief dropped his pants when she asked Brooks to put anything metal on the table.

Video shows Brooks quickly dropped his pants along his thighs before quickly pulling them up.

The newspaper reports the incident occurred one day after lifeguards raised concerns about a plan to place the beach patrol under the Fire Department because the chief’s daughter had failed to become a lifeguard.

Brooks joined the fire department in August 1979.
