DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - A 24-year-old science teacher at Danbury High School has been charged with second-degree sexual assault and providing alcohol to a student.

The News-Times of Danbury reports (https://bit.ly/1I2bGK6) Kayla Mooney was charged Tuesday after an investigation into allegations that a female teacher had inappropriate contact with a male student.

She was placed on administrative leave in February when the school contacted the state Department of Children and Families.

Police have not released details of the alleged conduct.

Mooney is due in court on April 14.
