SCHODACK, N.Y. (AP) - Sentencing has been postponed again for seventies heartthrob David Cassidy, who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in upstate New York in September.

Cassidy was charged in August 2013 in the town of Schodack, near Albany, while he was visiting upstate New York for the Saratoga racing season.

His plea deal included a sentence of a conditional discharge that includes 50 hours of community service in Florida, his home state. Sentencing has been repeatedly postponed as the performer has tried to avoid returning to court, preferring to be sentenced by mail. The latest sentencing date had been Wednesday.

Cassidy’s lawyer tells local media a deal is in the works to do the sentencing by mail.

Cassidy’s role on TV’s “The Partridge Family” launched a singing career.
