ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Federal authorities have charged an employee of the city of Rochester’s emergency dispatch center with attempting to get an underage girl to send nude photos to him.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo says FBI agents arrested 33-year-old Jason Cortese while he was on the job Tuesday at Rochester’s 911 center. He was charged with attempting to coerce a minor into sexually explicit conduct.

Prosecutors say Cortese sent multiple sexually explicit chat messages a 12-year-old girl in 2014 and also sent her pornographic photographs of nude children.

City officials aren’t commenting on the arrest.

Cortese is being held Wednesday in the Livingston County Jail in Geneseo, 25 miles south of Rochester. He’s due to appear in federal court in Rochester on Thursday.

It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
