SEATTLE (AP) - A 38-year-old transient has been sentenced to 21 ½ years in prison for fatally stabbing a sleeping stranger in a suburban fast-food restaurant in Bellevue.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/okUatP ) that Steven Padilla was sentenced Tuesday in King County Superior Court.

He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with a deadly weapon earlier this month.

Prosecutors say Padilla walked up to 65-year-old Jose Arias on Aug. 17 and stabbing him with a 10-inch knife at a Burger King in Bellevue. Padilla then fled and got rid of the weapon. Arias walked out of the restaurant and collapsed in the parking lot.
