ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin is scheduled to discuss new legislation he is sponsoring to create a nationwide alert system to catch violent criminals who have injured or killed police officers.
Cardin is scheduled to discuss the measure Wednesday in Crownsville.
The measure also would initiate alerts when imminent or credible threats of harm are made against law enforcement officers.
Cardin is scheduled to discuss the measure with Anne Arundel County law enforcement officers.
