LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The head of the Democratic Party of Arkansas says Democrats across the state are excited that Hillary Clinton is running for president.

Executive Director Candace Martin said Sunday that people in Arkansas and across the nation are excited by Clinton’s announcement because they know she has the experience to get things done.

As she did during her 2007 presidential bid, Clinton launched her campaign for the 2016 Democratic nomination with a video Sunday and planned to head to the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire to connect with voters there.

Martin says Clinton has always put working families, women, and children first whether she was serving as secretary of state, a U.S. senator or Arkansas’s first lady.

Martin says political observers expect there will be a Democratic presidential primary.
