DETROIT (AP) - Protesters have marched in Detroit to demand action on the disappearance of 43 students from a teachers college in Mexico.
The students from the Rural Normal School at Ayotzinapa were last in September.
The Mexican government says a group of students travelled to Iguala to steal buses and says police shot and killed six people. Mexican officials say they now believe that a drug gang killed the other students and incinerated their bodies.
The group Michigan Solidarity Network with Mexico has been traveling around the U.S. with parents of some of the missing students. The group held a march Sunday from St. Anne’s Catholic Church to Clark Park in southwest Detroit.
Marchers carried signs with the word “disappeared” over the faces of the missing students.
