KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Police in Kalamazoo say that the 2015 House Crawl was a milder version of last year’s event, with no tear gas and few arrests.

Public Safety Lt. Christopher Franks says about 2,000 people attended Saturday’s all-day celebration in the Knollwood neighborhood near Western Michigan University.

He says that says police made two arrests, both for alcohol-related violations.

Captain Jim Mallery says Kalamazoo increased the number of on-duty police officers by 50 percent from 10 a.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

The Kalamazoo Gazette (https://bit.ly/1O5iXYf ) says police also passed out fliers beforehand with information about safe party practices and city ordinances.
