NEW YORK (AP) - The Empire State Building is set to turn red, white and gold to celebrate a once-a-century milestone.

Officials say the famed Manhattan edifice will be illuminated with the colors Sunday evening in honor of New York City fire chiefs. The lights are meant to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the New York City Fire Chiefs Association.

Fire Chief Daniel Nigro (NY-grow) says the association has long trained and educated top fire commanders.

The group was founded in 1915 by Chief in Charge of the New York City Fire College John Kenlon.
