SEATTLE (AP) - After surveying school districts across the state about their needs for more classrooms to fulfill the requirements of the McCleary decision, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction reported 261 of the state’s 295 school districts need more space.
Here are the districts that reported needing the most new classroom space, followed by the number of classes they need to offer full-day kindergarten in all elementary schools plus a 17-to-1 student-teacher ratio in kindergarten through third grade:
