MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A van and a school bus collided at a downtown Muncie intersection, sending nine students and a motorist to a hospital.

Muncie Community Schools spokeswoman Ana Pichardo said the students were taken to a hospital as a precaution following the crash Monday morning on East Washington Street. The Star Press reports (https://tspne.ws/1zakXrg ) they had been treated and sent home a little more than two hours after the crash.

Muncie police Sgt. Mike Engle said the van’s driver, 30-year-old Kristina Young, also was taken to a hospital for treatment of cuts. She was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

The bus driver wasn’t injured.
