FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - A newly released Army document says a Stryker fighting vehicle that rolled and killed a soldier during a February training exercise at Fort Carson tumbled about 100 feet and landed on its top.
The document was a preliminary report released by the Army last week in response to a Freedom of Information request from The Associated Press. Those details of the incident weren’t previously made public.
The incident is still under investigation. The cause hasn’t been released.
Thirty-one-year-old Staff Sgt. Justin Holt of Bogata, Texas, was killed and six other soldiers were injured. All the injured soldiers held the rank of specialist, but their names and hometowns weren’t released.
The accident occurred Feb. 6 at about 9:30 p.m.
