VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Genesee County sheriff says a man who shot up the home of his ex-wife’s boyfriend rammed three emergency vehicles, injuring three officers.
Sheriff Robert J. Pickell says the man fired several shots Sunday evening into the boyfriend’s Vienna Township home, then broke in and pointed an assault rifle and handgun at the man before surrendering the weapons to his ex-wife.
The sheriff says the attacker then agreed to follow the woman to a sheriff’s substation. Once there, Pickell says the man rammed a sheriff’s vehicle with his pickup before driving off.
The sheriff says the man struck a paramedic’s vehicle and a Thetford Township police car. Two deputies and a township officer were treated at Hurley Medical Center and released.
The suspect is jailed pending arraignment.
