CLINTON, N.Y. (AP) - Officials at a private college in central New York say a lockdown has ended after state police found no evidence to support a bomb or shooting threat called in by an unknown suspect.
The Hamilton College website says state police conducted a thorough with bomb-sniffing dogs Monday after a threat was called in around 9:35 a.m. All classes were cancelled and students were ordered to shelter-in-place for hours during the police search at the 2,000-student campus in rural Oneida County, 40 miles east of Syracuse.
A notice on the website shortly before 6 p.m. said police are now focusing on finding the person responsible for the incident.
