HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a driver was killed when his car went off a ramp to Interstate 95 in Hampton and crashed into a tree.

Police said 60-year-old Louis Kloppenburg of Portsmouth was traveling on the ramp from Route 101 westbound at about 10 a.m. Monday. The car went off the left side of the road, down an embankment, into the tree.

Kloppenburg was taken to a hospital, where he died. There were no other passengers in the car.

The ramp to Interstate 95 was closed for about two hours.
