WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - A hiker is recovering at a hospital after crews rescued him from a ravine in central Kentucky.

Firefighters told WKYT-TV (https://bit.ly/1coRO6S) that the man was climbing down Harrods Creek Preserve Falls in Clark County on Sunday evening when he fell about 25 feet into a ravine.

The Winchester Fire Department, the Clark County Fire Department and the Madison County Rescue Squad worked together in the challenging terrain to find the man and get him to safety. The station reports the rescue effort took about three hours.

Authorities did not release the identity of the man, who was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with serious injuries.
