CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A man who agreed to be an informant in a drug sting operation but tried to flee with the sheriff’s money is facing felony charges.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said 24-year-old Duffy Sean Thomas was arrested twice on Friday.
After getting booked for drug possession, he agreed to be a drug informant for a sting operation.
Authorities then gave him $850 to buy drugs while wearing a wire but he apparently ran into his sister and mother and fled the scene during the transaction.
The sheriff said he was tracked down to his sister’s apartment, where the money was found and the man had changed into sister’s clothes and put on a wig.
He is charged with drug possession, grand larceny, escaping and obstructing.
Bail was set at $25,000.
