PASADENA, Texas (AP) - An implosion has brought down a 475-foot chimney at a former electric generation plant near Houston.

The controlled blast happened Sunday in Pasadena in an area close to the Houston Ship Channel.

Officials say a decommissioned power production building was also demolished at the former AES Deepwater Plant.

Environmental officials have said hazardous materials were removed from the site prior to the demolition.
